Many of the streaming apps do offer DVR services! It is usually called "cloud DVR." Cloud DVR works like the regular DVR you have used in the past, except instead of being stored on a set top box next to your TV, it is stored in the service provider's datacenter. This means that when you log in to that streaming service, there will be a section you can locate in the app to view that recorded content.
