What is the 5G network?

Last updated on 04 Sept, 2026

5G stands for fifth generation—the latest generation of wireless network technology. It is designed to deliver faster speeds, stronger connectivity, and lower latency than earlier generations where 5G coverage is available.

5G does not replace 4G LTE. The two work together, and a 5G-capable phone can move between 5G and 4G LTE depending on coverage and network conditions.

There is no extra charge to use 5G with MyBundle Mobile. You just need a 5G-capable phone and to be in an area with 5G coverage. If 5G is not available, your phone can connect over 4G LTE.

You can check coverage before signing up using the Check Coverage tool on the MyBundle Mobile page. A 5G indicator will typically appear on your phone when your device is connected to, or in range of, an available 5G signal.
